Yearning For More Yin

Warmth, beauty, loving kindness, strength, brilliance…

What are the words you would use to describe the amazing women in your life? Who are these women? Our mothers, our friends, our bosses, our role models and mentors, our daughters, ourselves…

Here at LYB, we’ve celebrating May as “Love Your Yin” month. Yin, according to ancient Taoist philosophy, represents the feminine energy that is present in all things. As we move into May, we celebrate not only moms (Mother’s Day is May 14), but also girlfriends, women who inspire us, Mother Nature, and even ourselves. We take time this month to connect with what nurtures our soul and brings beauty into our lives.

One of the best ways to keep our “yin” energy healthy is to maintain our connection with our girlfriends. As engaged, multi-tasking women, we all know that these relationships can easily end up taking a backseat to the daily grind if we don’t proactively nurture them.

To help, we’re kicking off May at LYB with a promotion that makes it fun and easy for you to connect with your favorite female friends. Our social media challenge this week offers you a great opportunity to make their day with a little unexpected gift from LYB and involve them in a fun day of shopping and perhaps much-needed “girl time.” Our May 6 grand reopening event, Love is in the Square, promises to be a day that will bring smiles, connection, and perhaps a full-blown wardrobe refresh! I myself have invited one of my best friends from Chicago down for the day, and am savoring the thought of enjoying the company of one of the most amazing women I know.

As we move into May, we’ll continue our spotlight on “yin” by celebrating our mothers, mentors and more. We invite you to share your stories with us about the inspiring women in your life. My female inspiration is all around me: my mother, daughter, best girlfriend, wonderful employees and incredible customers—every one of you has brought light into my life and continues to inspire me to evolve into the best version of myself. Here’s to the girls!

Cheers,

Lisa Berry
